Valthan

Background
Valthan the Pure has known nothing but battle since he first enlisted into the Per-Bastet military a half-century ago. His days had been filled with near constant conflict. Whether it be border skirmishes with rival powers or scattering a barbarian encampment that encroached too close to the Nurian river, Valthan had seen more than his fair share. He was a loyal soldier and gave it his all every day. However, age eventually caught up to him.
The military that relied on his courage and strength for so long sought to discharge him. Valthan wasn’t ready to give up his post, but he had little choice but to obey his superiors. The proud minotaur hung up his greataxe and horn protectors for the last time and returned to his long neglected home in Kyprion. Horrible depression took hold of him during this time. He felt that his life was already over. That he had given all that he could to his cause… and had been discarded once he was deemed no longer useful. Valthan turned to many things in order to alleviate his depression: alcohol, rock throwing, carpentry. But it wasn’t until he gave religion a chance that the minotaur dug himself out of his misery. Though at an advanced age, he became enamoured with the teachings of Bastet, patron of the city he once served. The paladins of Bastet eagerly accepted the veteran soldier and trained him in their ways.
It was through some of these fellow paladins that he became aware of the troubles happening in Mafri. Sensing an opportunity to demonstrate that he still had more to give and help those in need, Valthan the Pure set out for the TOMB OF THE SERPENT KINGS!!!
Horrible Death
Valthan the Pure died horribly while challenging an owlbear. He was ripped to shreds and never had a chance either to do anything or to be anything. What a terrible waste of 20 strength.
