Background

Travelled north with Hywel, Tarján, and their party as part of a divine quest: it is the commandment of Ogun not to let monsters befoul the land. She's made friends with them, and the group are somewhat bonded as having a common (far-off) origin, but she's not outright associated with the knight's entourage.

Where the Kijani's autochthonic god is a force known as the Green, Tanwyn is part of a heterodox but not heretical sect that reveres it in a more personified form, pointing to the texts of the ancient elves who worshipped a two-faced deity known as the Green Man. A frequent relation is made between the Green Man and Nun and Naunet in Nuria, Yarila and Porevit in Dornig, and Freyr and Freyja in the North; Tanwyn looks closer to home, pointing to the gods of the jungles themselves. Ogun is a god of farmers and of warriors - and so he should be, for farmers must take up arms to defend their fields; he is a god of green growth and of forged iron - and so he should be, for by plough and axe are the fields made good for plants to grow in; he is a freer of slaves and a jailor of criminals - and so he should be, for a key locks and unlocks doors. Here is the two-faced Lord of the Green.

Other character notes

Kind and friendly out of battle, serious and deadly within it
Seeks always to create, and to help others to create; would like to set up her own forge in town, if it looks like they'll stay long
Considers everything said to her carefully, acts with deliberation, often blinks slowly before speaking
An unpractised and slow but thorough reader: learnt a little later in life, coming to the temple. Often re-reads a page to be sure she's caught every line and understands all of it; sometimes will make wavering notes on a slate.
Would like to learn Elvish: current theology gleaned from translations, rather than originals.
Unlike other kijani, has not taken to gendered clothes. Is generally androgynous in presentation, and accepts whatever assumptions mammals tend to make as a result. Overall, not on board with the whole (incredibly dumb) canon thing about kijani trying to become mammals because ???
Often a little browned by forge-heat and sparks - by all means still an unusual occupation for a kijani, but nonetheless one she's quite proud of for its distinctiveness.
Ideal: Let grow what must grow, and tame what cannot be allowed to flourish - in the fields, in the cities, in the wilds, and in hearts.
Bond: The local temple in Pentecor which took her in when she was directionless, and gave her purpose and craft - and which tolerates her theology.
Overworks and overextends herself for others, of her free will but also open to manipulation in that area. Won't take appropriate breaks or see to her own needs.
Enjoys a good romance, and thinks they're fine (and entertaining) things to encourage; herself is usually more playful than committed, but always makes certain this is well-known early.

Escutcheon

Quarterly, vert and argent; I a key or; II a key reversed inverted sable; III two swords as II; IV a garb as I

Vert for growth; argent for the white heat of the forge.
The rightwise key or for unlocking; the inverted key sable for locking.
The two swords sable as carried by Ogun for war.
The garb or for the reward, which is a well-tended harvest.
