Session 19

The 19th session, taking place on during Week 37, involved a group of adventurers traveling to the tomb of the serpent kings and entering via the third floor secret entry.

Summary

The following entry was written by Hearst:

Balasard, Catherine, Gourou, Veigar, and Zalverk enter the first level of the Temple looking for treasure.
Balasard having vaguely remembering the area looks around seeing whats changed. He reveals a button behind a painting and warns everyone that something might happen. unbeknownst to him he triggers a poison cloud burning his lungs.

Further down the hallway the party discovers a chest surounded by snakes. While Gourou investigate the chest Balasard heard the pitter pattering of many little footsteps. Many many rats of different sizes swarmed Balasard as he nearly becomes a rat hotel. Mentally scaring him for the duration of the delve.

After dealing with the rats, the party begins to toss the rat corpses to the snakes in order to draw them away from the chest. This succeeds as Gourou and Balasard lure the snakes into a trap. The trap triggers squishing 2 snakes and cause the remaining 3 to flee. Balasard and Gourou are now in the presence of Haji a Merchant.

While Balsard and Gourou were occupied with Haji and the chest, Veigar, Catherine, and Zalverk haul the previously guarded chest away to the entrance, while Gourou and Balasard speak with Haji.

Balasard brings the second chest to the entrance while Gourou is talking to Haji about recovering the "Sleeping Death" seeds. Haji offers a large reward for acquiring these seeds.

After negotiating with Haji, the group makes it safely to the bottom of the waterfall, except Gourou. He takes an unexpected slip and rides the current of the waterfall straight into the ground. This cause him serious harm as his life hangs in the balance. Zalverk heals Gourou and the group find the corpse of one of the merchants dead men in a room at the base of the waterfall.

Curious leafy green creatures watch as the party moves around. Balasard and Zalverk manage to safely and easily harvest the seeds of the "Sleeping Death" without batting an eye twice. Just as everyone leaves, 2 piercing red eyes lock with Balasards. feeling threatened he slowly tries to back away quietly. (he succeeds) Balasard manages to not provoke the Leafrays.

Just as the party was leaving the depths, 3 Spider Skulls attack the fleeing party and threaten their stay. Not Allowing them to leave, Zalverk creates a bonfire and Balasard manages to throw a vial of Lantern Oil at the nearest spider. the spider erupts into flame. Balasard then started to follow the others up the waterfall.

Gourou stays back to heroically defends the fleeing members killing 1 spider skull with his Mace. Zalverk casts Jim's Magic Missile just to have it blow up in his face.

Catherine kills 1 with a Balasards "Faulty" crossbow. (rolls the lights out) Zalverk, amazed at how technology works; kills the last one with his crosbow. Gourou returns with the group to hand in the seeds to Haji and collect their reward

During the final talks between the group and Haji, Veigar starts insisting that Haji give the party a larger cut of the profits. Insisting 70% rather then 30%. The room began to grow dark while walls begin to bleed causing Haji and his party to flee the dungeon nearly killing themselves and a few others including Gourou.

Everyone leaves the dungeon safely and splits the loot.

Alas nobody dies, and the party makes it out alive.

Chest 1 (Viper's Den): 600GP (golden coins, silver pieces, goblets and jewelry) (Level 1 Treasure)

Chest 2 (Door Chest): 400GP (It would've been 600GP, but Altair and Ademaro took 200GP from it last session) (Level 1 Treasure)

Chest 3 (Haji's Reward): 1100GP (statuettes, necklaces, bracelets, and other fineries such as silk clothes and robes) (Level 2 Treasure)
