Originally bred to be a sage, he was already somewhat knowledgeable on magic. He's determined to raise his own hive with the use of necromancy to take his revenge, but lacks the knowledge and experience to do so.

More-so out of convenience than desire, Qiz'Riss made his way from the deserts to the jungles of the southlands, interested in unlocking the secrets of the tomb of the serpent kings and use them to meet his own ends.

Obsessed with gaining power to make those who have wronged him bend to his will, he will stop at nothing to attain his power. But he understands how weak he is - at least, with how he is now, he can't hope to stop even one of the men who murdered his kin. But he will adapt and work to his strengths, and eventually conquer all around him.

The dead happen to be abundant, and are perfect for bending to his will in numerous ways.

Joining the Adventure

Qiz'Riss joined the adventure on Session 18, with Dane, Brand, Ademaro, Altair, and Zalverk. Surprisingly, in his first delve he witnessed the slaying of the Black Pudding.

Life in Jokari

When he first started living in Jokari, he just stayed to himself in the basement of an abandoned building, and mostly only went to the wizard's tower. With the help of Derro'Alan, he's procured the bones of a few bodies. Of course, this caught up to them quickly, and he turned to creating and selling spell scrolls to the wizard's tower, as well as studying the ley lines of the surrounding area.

The Wizard's Cabal

Qiz'Riss ended up joining the wizard's cabal with the intent of abandoning it once it's usefulness ran out. That seems to be far in the distance, as Zalverk is a mildly respected individual in town. Qiz'Riss has made a suggestion to Zalverk on creating a series of tunnels leading to a crypt underneath Jokari as the cabal's secret hideout. Right after this, a bunker on the outskirts of town was created.

Veigar Trauma

At first, he was easily able to lay low, and work with Derro'Alan in retrieving, uh, "Materials." However, more recently with the arrival of Veigar, there has been more of a spotlight on him. Derro'Alan ended up being too reckless one night, after killing a drunkard, and stole Veigar's book before flying away. Of course, Qiz'Riss doesn't have wings, so that was his main alibi, though he generally played dumb with others, even claiming that two other tosculi had been spying on him in the slums.

Qiz'Riss has been brought in by a lazy constable, thinking that he had an easy job in finding who Veigar reported. Of course, they were eventually debunked by his lack of wings.

More recently, Veigar spotted Qiz'Riss in the library, and cornered him in the library. He seems to think Qiz'Riss is in cahoots with whatever tosculi stole his book, and while Qiz'Riss has started to distance himself from Derro'Alan's recklessness, his suspicions are in the right. Eventually, he needs to be dealt with, one way or another.
