Oastler Hresvaldir

Background
Oastler has always been alone. Or at least, he has felt that way. His earliest memories do not contain glimpses of family or friends, but rather the faces of strangers. Strangers who took him in for a time before passing him on to another. Oastler was a strange child by all accounts, in possession of strange powers that frightened those around him. He looked different from other children; his eyes were sharp and penetrating, and he possessed an air about him that was unsettling to those around him. When he was angry, others channeled his rage. When he was distraught, others were overwhelmed by his sadness. And these strangers that had sheltered the poor boy could not tolerate his presence for long.
As Oastler continued to suffer rejection after rejection, he found himself moving ever northward towards the barbarian tribes that inhabited the Northlands. Despite their fearsome reputation, they were not nearly as cruel as those who came before. One tribe of wandering nomads in particular, the Hresvaldir, decided that they could make use of the mysterious young stranger that had so bravely approached them. Their warriors trained Oastler in the arts of fighting and survival, essential skills for those who lived among the unforgiving battlegrounds of the north. For his part he excelled under their tutelage, and over time managed to harness his strange powers for the benefit of the tribe. Thanks in large part to Oastler efforts, the Hresvaldir were eventually able to leave their nomadic ways behind them and carved a permanent home for themselves amongst the warring clans. It was exactly what Oastler had been searching for. A home. Or was it?
But there was something nagging at the back of his mind. Oastler was different from his peers, that much was certain. His abilities betrayed a heritage that differed greatly from those he had known. A heritage that he resented, that had caused him so much grief and misery during his youth. Now that he was older, and had attained stability in his life, he felt that the time was right to finally answer the question that had plagued him. What was he? For this reason, he left the Hresvaldir that was his family behind and began to search for that elusive answer. His journey took him all across the towns, forests, holes, and hells of Midgard. His latest stop? Jokari. Perhaps the answer he seeks lies there.
