With every puff of catnip smoke she partakes, the cat goddess puffs twice more.

A very strange sight indeed. No, a resplendent one, perhaps? Her Worship is, as one would expect, quite hard to pin down.

“And so!” She exclaims after taking a giant puff.

“I know that my very enchanting and empowered and fickle and bodacious and just general awesomeness gathers a bunch of weirdos… But still! Shouldn’t THAT mean I am a very all-embracing goddess!?”

“I suppose one can extrapolate so, Your Worship.”

“Someone should help me spread this! Like, I married Anu-Akma, for claw's sake! I’m literally related to gnolls now; inclusivity should be part of my domain and portfolio!"

“One probably should, indeed.”

“Right!? Right!? To begin with, a goddess as vast as I am has many facets! Why would I only have one type of weirdo to be the majority of my followers? I can be a good and caring goddess too!”

She takes another catnip puff; a good one. Ayoma herself prefers to take small puffs with high intervals; easier to enjoy that way. Plus, this is a very strange high she is experiencing; would be a waste to rush thro--

"Actually, you do it!"

“Why, that’ll be--eh?”

“Yep! I like you. You shall be my prophet, to spread far and wide of Bastet’s generosity and all-encompassing nature!”

“...Eh?”

Background

Followers of Bastet are always...unusual, to say the least, owing the wild and fickle nature of their patron goddess.

Ayoma is a bit of an exception to that, though. One can say she is a weirdo among weirdos.

She was a lukewarm worshipper of Bastet, at most. Most who worship the cat goddess are drawn by her free spirit, her wild abandon nature, or just general opportunism. She, on the other hand, prefers to take a nap under the sun when available, taking it easy, and just getting along with everyone. Though… one can say that that is but another facet of Bastet herself. And as it turns out, that is exactly what Her Worship needs at the moment.

Bastet’s followers are ever growing; what was once a collection of motley crew has now grown to a strange medley of large followers. Emphasis on strange. Most of Bastet followers are chaotic in nature, earning them--and by extension, Bastet herself-- ...not exactly a good natured image.

Obviously, that will not do. The cat goddess is ever lovely and adorable! And she gets along with everyone else! So something must be done; the people must know of this facet of hers!

Was it but luck? A turn of the wheel of fate? Or just the goddess’ whim? Ayoma was the one the goddess visited in a vision, and spontaneously described as a prophet to spread her truth. And she’s… fine with it, actually? If nothing else, this gives her a firmer foundation of her faith, so to speak, and he merely needs to do what he mostly is already doing anyway.

And so over the years, Ayoma holds the goddess’s word in hera heart and circulates it, beginning in Per-Bastet, the metropolis and center of the Dome of the Divine Face of Bastet. She climbs through the rank and soon becomes a prominent voice in Per-Bastet, much to the Dome of the Divine Face of Bastet’s high priestess, Nafrini’s, chagrin. She met people, others like him. Nemale Sanura, a child of the divine. Tau Re, a paragon and seer. Those she grew to care and love...

---One day, rumour of treasures to be found in an underground complex beneath the Mountain of Rebirth reached the ears of the temple, and the priesthood discussed whether or not this merits further investigation. It would be most troublesome if this location is related to Set and the Dome of the Divine Face of Bastet is not involved, after all. So, of course Nemale requested, no, demanded, that she be the one to go to the Tomb of the Serpent King.

However, child of Bastet she may be, but not even she can demand to strut around a dangerous tomb of certain doom. At least, not without extra layers of protection. Ayoma and Tau were then sent to accompany, protect, and if need be, drag her back.

Thus, the kitten, the old cat, and the lioness have come to face the serpent!

Reconsecration of the Tomb

Upon encountering the desecration and shadows infesting the Tomb, Ayoma decided to utilizes her status and position to take upon herself the responsibility of spearheading the hallowing and reconsecration of the location
