Background
Anivere Hollowmeet was considered somewhat of a traitor among her kind. She was a kitsune, and naturally she should be loyal to the denizens of the forest, the fey, and the elves. But Anivere cast her lot more than 1600 years ago with the humans of Illyria. It was looked upon as a betrayal, and she became an outcast because of it. But the humans welcomed her leadership and wisdom. She was among the first generals of the Great Kingdom of Illyria, and used her tactical prowess to ensure that the nascent kingdom would survive elven attempts to undermine its newly built foundation. Anivere was lauded as quite the hero by the people of her time for her many great deeds and accomplishments, a title she reveled in.
But that was a long time ago. The elves of Thorn don’t easily forget betrayal no matter how many years may pass. Due to an unforeseen scheme concocted by Shadow Princess Sarastra, Anivere was caught inside of a temporal stasis within the depths of the Margreve Forest. Unable to leave her imprisonment, she could only wait for the centuries to pass and the magic that ensorcelled her to weaken. After more than a millennium, Anivere found herself within a world wholly different than what she remembered. The kingdom she once safeguarded had become a shadow of its former self, assailed by the Dragon Empire centuries before. Even the elves that had sought to punish her had all but vanished from the world. Needless to say, she was quite shocked!
Anivere wasn’t about to let a little time distortion get her down. No, this remade world was just another challenge she had to overcome. She did not struggle to ‘find her purpose in life’, nor did she grieve for what she ‘had lost’. Instead, she sought to bring her wisdom and experience to the modern version of Midgard. She would go wherever she was needed and do whatever she could to make life better for the lesser races that had claimed the world for their own. Ahem, well, maybe they are not lesser anymore.
Temporal Outcast
Anivere now lives in an era simultaneously confusing and exciting. Many reprehensible activities of her time with the elves are now openly embraced within the streets of Jokari, and her natural curiosity compels her to partake in everything this new world has to offer. She has already made a splash in the pit fighting circle, but her wandering eyes have set their sights on even more interesting novelties. Truly, being stranded in time might be the best thing to ever happen to her. Or is it the worst?
