Government
Jokari is the domain of two noble Houses. One of them is House Achebe. Most wealth in the town goes through them.
Crime and Punishment
Law and order is kept by a sheriff appointed by the two Houses, who then has a deputy and constable serving under him. Bailiffs execute the day to day responsibilities. Watchmen patrol the streets at night; it is unpaid and a rotating volunteer duty. When a crime occurs, its considered the townspeoples responsibility to help find the criminal.
Most crimes result in a fee paid as restitution to the victim. If it's against an especially prestigious person or if the crime was too great, more severe punishments could apply, such as: flogging, amputation, or capital punishment.

Nearby Adventuring Locations
Two places have become the interest of incoming adventurers, eager to make a name for themselves for gold and glory.
Tomb of the Serpent Kings
It is located 4 hours east of Jokari. The entrance can be found within an old owlbear nest, where a collapsed wall reveals the way into the passage into the tomb.
Tower of Abadeus
An abandoned tower that was once the lair of a helpful wizard. It lies 2 hours southwest into the jungle. Illusory wards combined with the natural trespasses of the jungle used to make it difficult to travel there, but a trail recently cut through the tangle allows easy access now.
