Born in the forests of Huldramose to a loving family. His parents worshiped Lada, but Bentley's thirst for knowledge made him much more partial to Wotan. Like most young bearfolk he wandered freely. Often he would live with nearby dwarven families.

Before he was old enough to to take his rite of passage and be given his adult name he left the region and headed west.

He was curious to see all the world had to offer. He traveled through many of the dwarven cities and towns along the way.

Eventually in Stannasgard he earned passage aboard a ship and crossed the Nieder Straits. The world was beautiful, amazing, and terrifying and he wanted to see as much of it as possible.

He continued west, only staying in places for at most a few weeks, until he came to Bemmea. There he saw all manner of magical wonders that he too wished to be able to create.

Bentley would do odd jobs around town. Sometimes he would listen to open air lectures. Sometimes wizards would take him on as an apprentice on a whim though those never lasted particularly long.

He stayed there for several years. Somehow it never got around that he was never given an invitation as a student. His blunders were never so great that anyone looked into why he was there. Instead opting to pass him off to another professor or apprenticeship.

One day one of his mentors told him he was done here and escorted him out of the city. To this day Bentley isn't sure if he graduated or if he was exiled. Either way he was keen to continue exploring the world. This time he headed south.

He traveled across hilly plains, over seas, through mountains and deserts. At times he was on the brink of death due to natural disaster and starvation but still he carried on. As he traveled he got that idea that since he was fortunate enough to have gotten an education at school, he should give back and open his own school.

He knew it would take a lot of gold and resources. It would need support from the locals too. Also if he were to hope to teach he would need to become far more learned. He would need to master his wizardry.

As he traveled further south through the jungle and began to hear rumors of a place that might satisfy his needs. A long forgotten temple had opened up near the remote town of Jakari. To this point he has just been doing mundane tasks for a few silver a day, but if he could get treasures and knowledge from the temple his dream might be so far off.
