Tomb of the Serpent Kings is a game with two phases.
The first phase is the Dungeon phase, which takes place as a D&D session in roll20. During the dungeon phase, also known as a dungeon delve, the characters enter a dungeon to challenge its dangers and return with loot. At the end of the session, the dungeon delve ends and the characters return to Jokari.
The second phase is the Downtime phase, which takes place in Jokari. In between every session, or dungeon delve, are two in-game weeks of Downtime. This is a recovery and building up period, where characters can recuperate from the trials they endured and better prepare for their next foray into the darkness. Every week lets a character do one downtime activity. If a player doesn't specify any, it's just assumed they're working odd jobs to stay afloat until their next delve.
After each Downtime phase, where two in-game weeks pass, another dungeon delve occurs in the Dungeon phase.
